Whose idea was this, anyway?

I'm starting to think that this blog is not such a good idea. It's not that I don't WANT to tell about my cloth adventures..... it's more that I just am not HAVING any right now. And that is frustrating for me, and I'm not sure I want to jam up bandwidth complaining about it. My life is complicated at times. I work two jobs, both demanding, and so often there is precious little time to myself. And when I do think I'm going to have some to use as I want, I usually sabatoge it by either volunteering for some project or by wasting the time I set aside. I have to get a better handle on this, or it's going to drive me nuts.

I've been tinkering with the idea of an ice quilt for the past couple of days. Hand-dyed blues, gray-blues and grays, all leaning toward light and medium values, with a LOT of white space. But I get lost from there. Would I use a block? I think maybe so - something that looks very crystalline, and straight-set (no sashing or divisions). That would have the best chance of looking like ice shards. Now, I just have to get the fabrics dyed up, and decide on a block.

Maybe I'll wait till hot summer to make the icy quilt, and spend the rest of the winter working on hot-colored pieces. I have a sunflower quilt top finished, need to piece the backing and quilt it. And I have all the fabrics collected now for a Chips and Salsa quilt - that's going to be a really fun project. And of course there are the NINE tops waiting for me to get them out to the quiltery for finishing. They're calling my name...... but I can't hear them!
